Custom MMIC in Orbit

News

Company highlights space qualified GaAs MMICs per MIL-PRF-38534 Class K and MIL-PRF-38535 Class S

Custom MMIC, a US developer of performance driven monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), has highlighted the company's space qualification capabilities for high performance GaAs MMICs.

According to the company, over 70 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) MMIC die products provided by Custom MMIC are able to be qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K, or could be hermetic packaged and qualified per MIL-PRF-38535 Class S.

The space qualification elemental evaluation is either performed internally by Custom MMIC, or through their trusted sub-contractors. In addition, Custom MMIC can develop and qualify a custom solution, if so desired.

Several of Custom MMIC's products have already undergone the rigorous high-level visual inspection, burn-in, 1000-hour life test, 100 percent elemental electrical results, and wafer lot qualification. For example, the CMD162 Ka-Band LNA has heritage, having completed Class K qualification and was launched in a major communications fast broadband satellite in 2015.
