Vector Photonics joins EPIC

News

UK laser start-up joins Europe’s largest network of photonics companies

UK laser start-up Vector Photonics has joined the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) - the largest, active, network of photonics-related companies in Europe. EPIC’s membership, currently 644 companies, spans many industry sectors, including photonics integrated circuits; optical components; lasers and sensor production; optical fibre communications; and further industries enabled by photonics-related technologies.

Neil Martin, CEO at Vector Photonics, said: “Vector Photonics is pleased to join EPIC. It has worldwide recognition and influence, providing a strong, network environment for photonics-enabled companies. EPIC seeks to facilitate technological and commercial growth for members and to identity new and emerging photonics markets for research and development. EPIC is a critical part of the European photonics industry.”

Jose Pozo, director of technology and innovation at EPIC, added: “Vector Photonics brings an exceptional contribution to the consortium through its revolutionary new, PCSEL-based, compound semiconductor laser technology. Neil Martin was a keynote speaker at our AGM in Glasgow, last year. It’s great to have his new company amongst our membership and to retain his photonics expertise within our organisation.”
