Furukawa Electric Corporation Accelerates Epi-Capacity Expansion For Lasers With Additional Aixtron MOCVD Systems
Aachen, Germany. AIXTRON AG is pleased to announce the repeated sale of an AIX 2400 Planetary Reactor® to Furukawa Electric Corporation, Yokohama, Japan. The outstanding quality of Furukawa s product manufactured on their existing AIXTRON system drove their decision to purchase an additional AIX 2400 Planetary Reactor®.
In the frame of this project, Furukawa s FITEL Products Division will produce their high quality lasers with wavelengths between 980 nm and 1550 nm using the AIX 2400 Planetary Reactor® system for 8x2" or 8x3" wafer configuration. Furukawa has successfully proven the extremely high uniformity of thickness, composition and doping of the wafers grown in the Planetary Reactor®. Together with the high utilization efficiency of the Planetary Reactor® concept, these features qualify the AIX 2400 as being the optimum mass production tool for long wavelength laser devices, with low cost-of-ownership operation.
