New Manufacturing Space to Enable Large-Scale Production of Monolithically Integrated Optical Components

North Brunswick, NJ. Qusion Technologies, a telecom component manufacturer driving monolithic integration of all-optical components, announced that it has opened a brand new fabrication facility in its headquarters in North Brunswick, NJ. The new facility encompasses 8,000 square feet including a 3,000 square foot class 1000 clean room and a 400 square foot class 100 photolithographic clean room.

The opening of the new clean room will give Qusion the capability of further and more advanced product development and will enable the company to develop partnership opportunities.

Qusion Technologies is a leading developer of monolithically integrated optical components on Indium Phosphide (InP). Using the most advanced manufacturing techniques and materials Qusion is creating integrated optical devices with tremendous precision that will reach unrivaled manufacturing yields. As a result of these multi-component modules, system developers will need only focus on developing and maintaining the architecture and software needed to run their systems, thus driving the development of the 40 Gb/s system and beyond.

This announcement comes as Qusion inaugurates a second round of VC funding that will enable them to begin manufacturing monolithically integrated components. A first round of funding in February raised over $9 million.

"The opening of this state of the art clean room emphasizes Qusion s continuing growth and will enable us to begin producing components on a vast scale," says Fred Rappaport, Chairman of Qusion Technologies. "We now have all the tools in place to launch the most advanced line of monolithically integrated modules."

About Qusion Technologies Qusion is using the most advanced manufacturing techniques and materials to create integrated optical devices with tremendous precision that will reach unrivaled manufacturing yields, driving the 40 Gb/s system and beyond. Qusion offers a high-speed, cost-effective integrated solution that increases functionality by removing the need for systems developers to integrate disparate components within the network architecture, minimizing engineering and field service management.
