Five additional patents strengthen Anadigics' IP
US-based RF chip maker Anadigics has been granted five US patents relating to the design and development of radio frequency ICs.
The company says that these patents strengthen its technological advantages across its wireless and broadband product families.
Patent 6,806,767 details a load switching circuit for linear power amplifier (PA) applications that improves efficiency at different output power modes. The greater efficiencies are produced by adjusting the output load according to the power requirements, says Anadigics.
A method for producing a compact wireless PA delivering a higher level of performance through a novel circuit layout is described in patent 6,856,004. The amplifier consists of transistors on a substrate with a via hole, which reduces the device's size and improves its performance.
Patent 6,853,526 describes a method for protecting voltage transients in cable TV line amplifier ICs.
The other two patents, 6,842,075, and 6,882,227 describe modifications to the bias circuitry that either allow ICs to operate at lower voltages, thereby consuming less power, or improve the linearity of wireless local area network PAs.
