Riber to Supply 3 MBE Tools For CS Manufacturing in Asia
The reactors, ordered by two customers, will be used to make radiofrequency communication microelectronic devices.
Riber, a leading molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) tool provider, has sold three production systems to two Asian organizations working in the compound semiconductors industry.
The orders include two MBE6000 systems, with a processing capacity of over 1,500 wafers per month, and one MBE49 system, with a processing capacity of 1,200 wafers per month. The machines will primarily be used to make radiofrequency communication microelectronic devices, enabling the customers to significantly increase their production capabilities.
These orders illustrate the strong upturn in the compound semiconductor industry, as well as the strong level of interest in Riber's production systems. Since the beginning of 2010, Riber has booked five orders for production machines, deliverable in Europe and Asia.
Riber designs and produces molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) systems as well as evaporation sources and cells for the semiconductor industry. This high-technology equipment is essential for the manufacturing of compound semiconductor materials and new materials that are used in numerous consumer applications, such as new information technologies, OLED flat screens and new generation solar cells.
