Advantech Wireless announces over $1m orders for Ku-Band SapphireBlu GaN PA
Broadcasting industry rapidly adopts technology for new generation of satellite news gathering trucks
Advantech Wireless, a privately-held Canadian manufacturer of satellite, RF equipment and microwave systems, has announced today that it has received over $1million in orders for its redundant/phase 250W/500W Extended Ku-Band SapphireBlu GaN based solid state power amplifier (SSPAs) for satellite news gathering (SNG) applications.
The Extended Ku-Band SapphireBlu GaN based SSPA systems include L-band interface, provide very high frequency accuracy, allow high order modulation schemes as per DVB-S2x standard, and require no field adjustment or tuning. Designed to operate as 1:1 redundant 250W, the system can be instantly switched to phase combined mode and deliver 500W of RF power when needed, says the company.
"Broadcasting industry has been rapidly adopting Advantech Wireless' GaN technology for the new generation of SNG trucks and flyaways," stated Cristi Damian, VP business development at Advantech Wireless. "This revolutionary GaN based system meets the stringent requirements of critical TV Broadcasting, where power availability is mandatory."
