Quantum dots for the Internet of Things

DCIA releases QMC interview from the Consumer Electronics Show

Quantum Materials Corp (QMC) today announced that the Distributed Computing Industry Association (DCIA) has released QMCs' broadcast interview from the DCIA's 'Internet of Things' (IoT) recording marathon during the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show. The interview is available on YouTube.

"Quantum Materials President, founder and CEO Steve Squires makes the scientifically-advanced topic of quantum dots for the Internet of Things (IoT) easily understandable to the average person," said DCIA CEO Marty Lafferty."And with the Internet of Things on an unstoppable growth trajectory to surpass 50 billion smart objects by 2020 the potential energy benefits alone of this amazing technology to the burgeoning IoT marketplace are indeed profound."

"During CES, we focused specifically on cadmium-free quantum dots in display applications as we were there meeting with the leading global display manufacturers," said Steve Squires, QMC's CEO and pPresident.

"Displays are just the tip of the quantum-iceberg, though, especially pertaining to IoT. Besides quantum dots enhancing display colour, brightness and sharpness, they offer huge energy-saving and enhanced capacity benefits in battery and solid state lighting applications.

"With estimates of 12+ billion devices now connected to the Internet and 100 new devices such as IoT Smart Light Bulbs connecting to the internet per second, the need for the energy savings and efficiency is paramount."

The DCIA's Internet of Things (IoT) Marathon was recorded during the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show from January 6th through 9th in Las Vegas, NV, covering this newest and arguably largest-ever industry phenomenon. Demos, displays, and discussions were captured for this major industry webcast in the Distributed Computing Industry Association's (DCIA) production studio at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

The Distributed Computing Industry Association (DCIA) is an international trade organisation focused on commercial advancement of cloud computing and related technologies, particularly as they are deployed for the delivery of high-value content. Member companies include industry-leading software developers and distributors, broadband network operators, content rights-holders, and service-and-support firms.
