Custom MMIC introduces compact 10 to 14GHz amp

Low noise, high gain amp suits EW and communications use

Custom MMIC, a developer of monolithic microwave ICs, has announced a new 10-14GHz amplifier that offers a low noise figure, low current consumption, and high gain.

The CMD189P3 is a broadband MMIC low-noise amplifier that operates from 10 to 14GHz and delivers greater than 19 dB of gain with a corresponding output 1dB compression point of +4 dBm and noise figure of 1.4dB.

It is housed in a leadless 3x3 mm plastic surface-mount package and has a 50 ohm matched design, which eliminates the need for external DC blocks and RF port matching.

The CMD189P3 is suited for EW and communications systems where small size and low power consumption are needed. Ideal applications for this new amp are point-to-point and point-to-multi-point radios, military end-use, and test instrumentation
