Cree Connects with SmartThings

Connected LED bulb claimed to be most compatible available

Cree has announced the Connected Cree LED Bulb's compatibility with SmartThings home automation, part of the Samsung Global Innovation Centre.

"Cree is committed to collaborating with other industry leaders to provide connected bulbs that deliver better light experiences by addressing the shortcomings of today's lighting solutions," said Betty Noonan, Cree chief marketing officer. "The Connected Cree LED Bulb is designed for compatibility with existing market-leading platforms, as well as those yet to come, so consumers can feel confident that their investments are protected and designed to work with new smart hubs well into the future."

The Connected Cree LED Bulb is  claimed to be the first smart LED bulb to deliver the combination of the lighting experience customers expect from Cree with industry-leading simplicity, multi-platform compatibility and affordability. Fully dimmable and controllable through the SmartThings app, the 60-watt replacement Connected Cree LED Bulb consumes 81 percent less energy and has a rated lifetime of 25,000 hours. The bulb is available in the US at The Home Depot for $14.97.
