Win Semi's Q2 revenues up 10 percent

First half of 2015  increased 40 percent compared to 2014

Taiwanese GaAs foundry Win Semiconductors has announced its second quarter revenues. These reached $100.3 million (NT$3.1 billion), an increase of 25.92 percent compared to the same period in 2014 and an increase of 10.42 percent compared to 1Q2015.

The period January through June 2015 totalled $191 million (NT$5.9 billion), an increase of 43.06 percent compared to the same period in 2014.

Win Semi also posted June revenues of $33.4 million (NT$1.03 billion), an increase of 12.65 percent year-over-year and an increase of 0.89 percent month-over-month.

Win Semi provides foundry services for GaAs components used mainly in smartphones. GaAs PA suppliers Avago Technologies and Skyworks Solutions, and China-based RDA Microelectronics are reportedly amongst Win Semi's major clients.

Growing demand for power amplifiers is expected to buoy the company's sales performance in the second half of 2015.
