Nanoco to Show Quantum-Dot Lighting for plants

QD LEDs could further enhance chlorophyll absorption

British quantum dot company Nanoco Group will be showing its cadmium-free CFQD Quantum Dot LED lighting at the Indoor Ag-Con conference, taking place April 5-6, 2016 in Las Vegas, US.

LEDs provide many benefits to the grow-light and horticultural lighting industry because, unlike traditional lighting fixtures, they can be customised to encourage chlorophyll absorption and promote healthy growing. Moreover, they consume far less energy, and cast less heat, making it easier to control growing environments.

Nanoco says its CFQD Quantum Dot technology is free of dangerous heavy metals and expands upon these benefits and allows for additional, precise tuning to further enhance chlorophyll absorption peaks and ensure healthier, higher-yielding plants.
