Lumileds Expands Luxeon C Colour Line
Lumileds has expanded its line of Luxeon C Colour LEDs to a total of 12 colours and eight whites.
"Lumileds has filled out the spectrum on an LED colour line that really sets the standard in colour mixing. We're delivering seamless colour mixing and the right colours for every application, including studio and stage lighting, architectural lighting, emergency vehicle lighting as well as colour tunable lamps/fixtures," said Jennifer Holland, product manager for the Luxeon C Colour Line.
The Luxeon C Colour Line now includes Mint, Deep Red and Far Red colours, which join the existing offering of Red, Red-Orange, Amber, PC Amber, Green, Cyan, Blue and Royal Blue.
In addition, the typical flux of Luxeon C Red and Luxeon C Blue have been upgraded by 12 percent, delivering even better output from two of the most commonly used colours.
The Luxeon C Colour Line is the winner of two industry awards in 2016, the Sapphire Award from LEDs Magazine and the Product Innovation Award (PIA) from Architectural SSL. The Sapphire Awards recognise solid-state lighting innovations that are driving technology forward and revolutionising the lighting market. The PIA Awards honor the most innovative solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market as well as their components.
The white portion of the Luxeon C Colour Line has been expanded to include colour temperature and CRI combinations of 4000K, 5000K, 5700K and 6500K at 70 CRI; 2700K, 3000K and 4000K at 80 CRI; and 5700K at 90 CRI.
The Luxeon C Colour is the only line of colour LEDs to be hot tested at 85degC to ensure performance at application conditions. With the industry's lowest thermal resistance (2.8 degC/W), users can save on heat sink cost or drive the LEDs harder to attain higher output than with a competitor's LEDs.
In addition to the expansion of the Luxeon C Colour Line, Lumileds announces the addition of a Far Red offering to the Luxeon Rebel Colour Line, a portfolio known for its leading light output, high efficacy and clear saturated colours. Additionally, the Luxeon Rebel Green, Cyan and Blue colours now feature 12 percent higher flux than the previous generation emitters.
