Cree adds to LED Troffer Portfolio

Commercial spec-grade troffer delivers energy efficiency of 130 lumens per watt

Cree has expanded its ZR Series LED troffer portfolio with the introduction of the new ZR FD LED Series, a commercial spec-grade troffer that delivers superior energy efficiency of 130 lumens per watt.

This performance increase provides customers with up to 60 percent energy savings versus fluorescent troffers. Now, customers have a choice: ZR Series for color-excellence of 90-plus CRI at industry-competitive 90 lumens per watt or the new ZR FD Series for industry-leading 130 lumens per watt efficacy at 80-plus CRI, says the company.

"Cree's new ZR FD LED Series delivers a breakthrough in energy savings while improving visual comfort in a pleasing aesthetic that reduces hot spots and glare for a light experience that is simply better," said David Elien, Cree senior vice president, lighting. "It provides unmatched performance with exceptional light quality and value that makes it easier than ever to switch to better LED technology."

According to Cree, the new ZR FD Series typically provides a payback of less than two years versus fluorescent and comes standard with best-in-class dimming to 5 percent, versus the 10 percent typical of fluorescent. The ZR FD Series features a new matte reflector finish for improved product aesthetics, reduced glare and uniform illumination.

Backed by a ten-year warranty, this product offers longevity with a 75,000-hour lifetime at 35degC and features that are built for long life.

Its thin profile, lightweight design makes for easy installation in almost any plenum, reducing the need for layout redesign in retrofit applications. The product's 3.9inch height offers a quick and easy one-for-one replacement of inefficient fluorescent troffers in education, healthcare and commercial building applications.
