Lumileds adds CoB LED arrays to Luxeon Stylist Series

News
CrispColor technology highlights rich colours and increases contrast for fashion retail

Lumileds has introduced chip on board arrays that use its CrispColor technology to deliver rich, saturated colours.

Part of the Luxeon Stylist Series, this new approach to lighting caters specifically to fashion retail, delivering a full palette to display merchandise more attractively, according to the company.

"The Luxeon Stylist Series goes well beyond energy efficient lighting. This is about identifying the most appealing light for the environment and using it to attract and maintain a loyal customer base," explained Luis Aceña, senior manager, Stylist Series at Lumileds.

"With Luxeon CoB with CrispColor Technology, all colours are immensely appealing, so customers are more likely to be captivated by the retailer's merchandise, want to purchase it, and feel like returning to your store again and again," he added.

Spotlights and downlights made with Luxeon CoB with CrispColor Technology achieve a higher colour gamut with high centre beam candle power (CBCP), according to Lumileds. Available in multiple lumen packages and a wide colour range (2700K to 5000K), these CoB arrays meet the exacting lighting requirements of fashion retail stores.

The Luxeon Stylist Series also includes Luxeon CoB with CrispWhite Technology, which is optimised to reveal the whitest whites in fashion retail items.

To achieve that, it combines a specific colour point at 3000K with a specialised spectra to activate the Fluorescent Whitening Agents (FWA) present in fabrics and paints. "From the moment the customer steps into the store, there is a 'wow factor' they cannot explain," said Claudia Kansy of MS Mode, a retailer that installed Luxeon CoB with CrispWhite Technology in MS Mode's flagship store.

The new generation of Luxeon CoB with CrispWhite Technology boasts a 13 percent improvement in efficacy at the same lumens, compared to the previous generation.

CrispColor Technology will be available in a variety of product families from Lumileds, including CoB, Mid Power and Matrix Platform.

"Retailers tell us they can really see an amazing difference with these sources," said Acena.
