Food 4 Less store uses Stion CIGS modules

News
Company hopes to offset more than $8.6 million worth of electricity costs over 25 years

US CIGS solar panel maker Stion Energy Services has provided a turn-key solar installation at the store of PAQ (Food 4 Less) at Eastland Plaza in south Stockton, California.

PAQ is a Californian grocery firm and this the first PAQ store to go solar. The 722kW array was built with Stion's frameless modules and went into operation on May 19, 2016.

Over a 25 year period, Food 4 Less hopes to offset more than $8.6 million worth of electricity costs with its solar PV system, helping lower operating costs.

Stion Energy Services uses Stion's 'Simply Better' CIGS technology which offers 5 to 10 percent more energy per kW when compared to crystalline modules.

Stion's frameless module weighs 10 percent less than Stion's framed modules and up to 25 percent less than crystalline modules, and enables Stion to ship 30 percent more modules per containe. SES has also developed a proprietary adhesive solution which enables robust and streamlined installation.
