Quantum Science shows INFIQ QDs at NPL

News
UK company talked about technology as national metrology institute celebrated 125 years of impact and innovation

Quantum Science, a UK-based maker of infrared quantum dot (QD) materials, took centre stage at the UK's National Physical Laboratory (NPL) Innovation Day on Wednesday 4 June as the national metrology institute celebrated 125 years of impact and innovation.

Quantum Science's QDs come as solution processable 'inks' which are used to produce thin-film stacks. The technology can tuned by adjusting the size or bandgap of quantum dots to absorb broadband light, anywhere from the visible to the infrared range.

Cong-Duan Vo, CTO, delivered a speech introducing Quantum Science’s proprietary INFIQ infrared quantum dot materials and the company's technology for infrared optoelectronic applications.

Vo spoke on the importance of collaborative innovation, acknowledging the significant impact of Quantum Science partnership with NPL teams, supported by Innovate UK, for advancing the innovation and development of the leading infrared QD imaging technologies.

The NPL Innovation Day is an invite-only event bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and government to showcase how science and technology are driving UK innovation and growth.

Vo said: “Our collaboration with NPL, made possible by Innovate UK’s A4I programme, has been instrumental in refining our INFIQ quantum dot materials and bringing new products closer to market. By combining our expertise with NPL’s world-class measurement science, we are not only advancing our technology but also setting new standards for the industry. We look forward to further breakthroughs enabled by this ongoing collaboration.”
