Marktech unveils next-gen 'Red Dot' RCLEDs

Marktech Optoelectronics has announced new high-efficiency 25µm diameter resonant cavity light emitting diodes (RCLEDs) with a peak emission at 650nm.
Designed for precision optical targeting, the MTSP-1414 series of 'Red Dot' RCLEDs deliver a 33 percent increase in optical output power compared to previous generation devices under the same forward current and voltage conditions (If = 5mA, Vf = 2.1V), according to Marktech.
The company says the high efficiency makes the LEDS well suited for battery-powered systems, providing longer operational life and superior beam clarity.
Available in two black surface mount packages – a 2.1mm x 2.1mm square SMD and a compact 1.5mm x 1.6mm SMD – these RCLEDs incorporate Marktech’s proprietary black encapsulation technology to eliminates internal reflections and optical defects. The result is a well-defined circular point suitable for demanding optical applications.
“Our new high-efficiency 25µm red dot LEDs dramatically improve battery life while maintaining the sharpest, most precise point source in the industry,” said Vince Forte, CTO of Marktech Optoelectronics. “With virtually zero internal reflections and a well-defined beam profile, these RCLEDs provide an ultraclear aiming dot – critical for scopes, speed guns, pyrometers, viewfinders, and finderscopes where accuracy and clarity are non-negotiable.”
