HexaTech announces 100 mm AlN substrate product
US-based HexaTech has announced the production release of its new 100 mm diameter single crystal AlN substrate product: a milestone that builds on the three-inch substrate the company launched earlier this year.
The product is suitable for UV-C LEDs for disinfection, deep UV lasers for biological threat detection, high voltage switching devices for power conversion, and RF components for satcoms.
Gregory Mills, HexaTech VP of business development commented: “This 100 mm product launch directly addresses the needs of our commercial optoelectronic and high-power RF customers, by once again lowering the price per unit area threshold, allowing for ease of fabrication line insertion, and rapid scaling of device production.“

This success will be the basis of our future expansion efforts, as we drive toward 150 mm and beyond, and close the gap with other high-performance wide bandgap materials.”
