Vice President Joe Biden Visited Cree to Discuss Green Technology and American Innovation
Vice President Met with Cree CEO Chuck Swoboda and Employees
Vice President Joe Biden visited Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) to discuss the Obama administration’s commitment to fighting for issues important to America’s middle class families, including creating well-paying manufacturing jobs and building the clean energy economy. Cree, based in Durham, North Carolina, is a market-leading manufacturer of LED (light-emitting diode) products.
Vice President Biden toured Cree’s facilities with Chuck Swoboda, chairman and chief executive officer of Cree, and spoke with employees about the benefits of working for a green technology company and their concerns about the economy.
“The ongoing support from the Obama administration is important as we promote the value of energy efficiency and sustainability in today’s economy,” said Swoboda. “Cree is creating American clean-tech jobs right now, as we continue to lead the LED lighting revolution.”

Connecting the Compound Semiconductor Industry
The 13th CS International conference builds on the strengths of its predecessors, with around 40 leaders from industry and academia delivering presentations that fall within five key themes: Ultrafast Communication; Making Headway with the MicroLED; Taking the Power from Silicon, New Vectors for the VCSEL, and Ultra-wide Bandgap Devices.
Delegates attending these sessions will gain insight into device technology, find out about the current status and the roadmap for the compound semiconductor industry, and discover the latest advances in tools and processes that will drive up fab yields and throughputs.
