Lumileds Delivers High Efficacy CoB

News

New range is designed for high impact retail, indoor area lighting and other commercial lighting applications

Lumileds has introduced the Luxeon CoB Core Range PW, a line of chip on board (COB) LEDs built for high efficiency and light quality.

These CoBs are said to deliver convenient below blackbody colour point, which brings out the vibrancy and saturation of colours, making them more attractive. The new line is suited to high impact retail, indoor area lighting and other commercial lighting applications.

Lumileds proprietary SLA phosphor technology enables high efficacy at 138 lm/W and colour temperature of 4000K 90CRI. “We’re always testing new phosphors to hit on the ideal combination of colour point and performance. This new line of CoBs features outstanding colour stability and performance over time,” said Keen Oun Yap, product manager of Luxeon CoB Core Range PW.

Luxeon CoB Core Range PW is offered in a variety of light emitting surfaces (LES), from 9mm to 19mm, and in correlated colour temperatures of 3000K, 35000K and 4000K at 90CRI to suit various applications and requirements. This CoB is said to use the industry’s lowest thermal resistance MCPCB package, which reduces heatsink requirements and final fixture size.
