Smartphones expected to account for nearly 35 percent of GaN-powered chargers sold through 2021-22.

According to a report by Future Market Insights, the GaN-powered chargers market will surpass $694.4 million in 2021. Smartphones are expected to account for nearly 35 percent of GaN-powered chargers sold through 2021-22.

Global shipments of GaN-powered chargers declined in the first half of 2020 owing to supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. According to a study, the market registered declining growth of a -1.5 percent as compared to the original forecast in 2019.

The study forecasts that GaN-powered chargers market’s year-on-year growth rate expected to improve by nearly 2 percent in comparison to 2020.
