Asian customer has ordered MBE 412 machine for advanced nitride research

French MBE firm Riber has announced a multi-million Euros order for an MBE 412 system in Asia.

The new Asian customer has just ordered the automated MBE 412 machine to strengthen its fundamental and advanced nitride research capabilities. This machine will be used to develop optoelectronic devices for end-use applications such as LEDs, UV sensors and microwave power components.

Riber's MBE 412 system is suitable for 4-inch wafer research and pilot production tool for III-V materials. The modular design enables it to be easily configured by integrating the various instruments required (RF plasma source, manipulator, evaporators, in situ monitoring tool) in the development of new compound semiconductors.

Developed some ten years ago, the MBE 412 has over 25 systems currently in operation worldwide

The new order will be delivered in 2024.
