Cree introduces XBright green LEDs at 505 and 525 nm

Cree has introduced XBright(TM) 505 and 525 nm green LEDs, further expanding the XBright family of products which also contains the previously introduced XBright 470 nm blue LED. The XBright 505 nm part exhibits typical brightness of 11 mW while the 525 nm part is rated at 9 mW. Target applications for these devices include full color indoor and outdoor displays, advertising panels, traffic signals, and consumer products. Customer qualification samples and volume production are now available.

"With the introduction of the newest XBright green products, Cree now offers what we believe is the highest brightness and broadest range of nitride-based LED chip solutions to meet the multiple requirements of the marketplace," said Chuck Swoboda, President and CEO. "We plan to make continued improvements in our chip performance as we invest in advancing our technology."
