Velocium and Endwave renew supply agreement

Endwave will continue to use Velocium's GaAs HBTs and HEMTs in its antennas and millimeter-wave transceivers.
Endwave Corp. and Velocium, TRW’s telecommunication products company, have revised and renewed their supply agreement up to the end of 2005. The agreement includes both TRW and Velocium processes and products, including GaAs HBTs and HEMTs used in Endwave’s antennas, millimeter-wave transceivers and outdoor units for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links.

The agreement, which continues the arrangement announced following the formation of Endwave from TRW Milliwave and Endgate in March 2000, allows Endwave continued and expanded access to GaAs products and processes and includes wafer processing services and lower frequency products employed in wireless infrastructure applications. The deal also covers Velocium s InP circuits and guaranteed pricing and purchase commitments.

“On behalf of TRW and Velocium, we are extremely pleased to continue and expand our technology partnership with Endwave, a market leader in RF subsystems for broadband wireless infrastructure,” said Velocium president, Dwight Streit. “Endwave’s design expertise and world-class manufacturing capability, coupled with our semiconductor processing technologies, will give leading radio OEMs and other equipment manufacturers access to TRW technology and performance, packaged as they need it.”

“TRW is known worldwide for their high-performance, highly reliable GaAs and InP semiconductor technologies used in millimeter-wave applications, and we are pleased to be able to expand our long-standing relationship with TRW and Velocium,” said Ed Keible, Endwave’s president and CEO. “Our relationship with TRW provides us with a competitive advantage in the market, and allows Endwave to leverage TRW’s advanced semiconductor processing technologies in developing next-generation product solutions for our customers.”
