Cree receives QS-9000 certification LED maker Cree has received QS-9000 registration. QS-9000 is a set of automotive quality system requirements established by US automakers that promotes improving product quality and customer satisfaction. The QS-9000 standards are based on the internationally recognized standards developed by the International Organization of Standards (ISO) in Geneva, Switzerland, known as ISO-9000, which is a set of standards for quality management systems. QS-9000 applies to certain suppliers of products, services, parts and materials and combines the ISO-9000s standard with the specific requirements of the major automakers.

Todd Tucker, Executive VP, Operations, stated, "We are extremely pleased that Cree s quality system was assessed and met the rigorous QS-9000 standard. Achieving this standard reflects the expectations of the Big Three (DaimlerChrysler, Ford and GM) and other subscribing companies, and provides Cree with an excellent opportunity to further penetrate the automotive market with our LED products."
