Johnson Matthey invests in new gas purifier plant

Johnson Matthey's Gas Purification Technology group moves to a new and expanded facility
Johnson Matthey Gas Purification Technology (GPT) group, West Chester, PA, is to move into a new facility that has been built to house the design, engineering, mass production and commercial activities for its gas purification products.

The company says that the move follows the significant growth of its "PureGuard" family of products. The GPT division manufactures gas purifiers based on a number of different technologies including, Pd membrane, getter, nickel, catalytic and adsorbents to provide ultra-high purity gases..

The new building is double the size of GPT division s exisiting site and includes three clean room areas: class 10,000, class 1,000 and class 100. As well as building the new facility, Johnson Matthey is also increasing its research and development of gas purification technologies.
