IPAG closes second round of funding
IPAG has secured additional funding to develop highly integrated InP electronic and optoelectronic components.
Innovative Processing AG (IPAG), a developer and manufacturer of InP-based electronic and optoelectronic components located in Duisburg, Germany, has successfully closed on a second round of financing. IPAG was established by former employees of the University of Duisburg at the end of 2000.
The company’s new funding was led by High Tech Private Equity and included first round backers Agite. The latest $4.4 million injection of funds will be used to develop highly-integrated electronic and optoelectronic components for high-speed communication networks.
“Our technological expertise is in the development of high speed components for telecommunication systems based on InP,” said Ralf Bertenburg, IPAG’s CEO and founder. "Using this technology, superior products for fiber-optic systems, as well as wireless communication systems, will be developed. One of our initial products is a receiver module, consisting of a pin diode integrated with a traveling wave amplifier, with a transfer speed up to 43 Gbit/s.”
