TriQuint updates forecast, Bede reports results
In the first quarter of 2003, TriQuint will begin to see the effects of the acquisition of Agere s optoelectronics business, which is due to be completed in early January 2003.
Without revenue from the Agere business, TriQuint stated that its revenue for the first quarter of 2003 would be seasonally down by approximately 10% compared to the fourth quarter of 2002. This reflects seasonal trends in the wireless handset market.
Including the Agere business, TriQuint s revenue is expected to be up by approximately 5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2002 and up by approximately 20% over first quarter of 2002.
However, TriQuint will incur losses due to the Agere acquisition; the company is projecting an EPS loss of approximately $0.08 for the first quarter of 2003. This excludes any charges for write-off of acquired in-process research and development.
