News in brief: DenseLight, Anadigics and Optillion
DenseLight Semiconductors a provider of InP-based optical components has announced its incorporation in the United States and the opening of a new office in Campbell,CA. Bill Diamond, DenseLight’s CEO, will direct US operations out of this new location. The US office will allow DenseLight to better serve its significant customer base in North American and Europe. With Sunil Phatak, VP of technical marketing already based in the eastern US, DenseLight now has a direct market presence on both coasts of the US as well as in Asia.
Anadigics receives ISO 9001:2000 certification
Anadigics has announced its successful certification to ISO 9001:2000 in recognition of the company s quality management system. Anadigics set a standard in the industry in 1993 when it became the first GaAs integrated circuit manufacturer to achieve ISO certification.
The main changes in the revised ISO 9000 standards include a greater emphasis on management practices, increased monitoring of continual quality improvement processes, and a greater focus on customer satisfaction levels. For Anadigics, the certification process involved an independent, in-depth review of all product development, manufacturing and customer support processes.
Optillion receives ISO 9001:2000 certification
Optillion, a manufacturer of fiber-optic transceivers based in Stockholm, Sweden, has received ISO 9001:2000 certification for sales, manufacturing and development of its fiber-optic transceivers and subsystems, essentially covering Optillion s entire business operation.
"Optillion has been shipping fiber optic 10 Gb/s Ethernet transceivers since December 2001. The addition of an ISO certificate provides assurance that Optillion s customers expectation of supplier quality will be met," said Patrik Evaldsson, CEO and president of Optillion.
