At long last, a new display technology is challenging an industry that has been dominated for the past three decades by the liquid-crystal display (LCD). First used four years ago in car stereos, displays made from organic light-emitting diode (OLED) materials are now starting to make a real impact in consumer electronics. By around 2008, the technology is expected to have reached your computer lap-top and TV screen.
