News in brief from Endwave and Praxair

Endwave is applying its expertise to the growing market for security equipment and Praxair has opened a new facility in Europe.
Endwave Corporation, a supplier of RF subsystems, has entered into a development agreement with SafeView, a privately held developer of security screening systems, to develop and manufacture millimeter wave transceiver modules.

The system uses low-power millimeter waves to scan people passing through security checkpoints for objects concealed in bags and clothing.

Under the agreement, Endwave will design and develop the millimeter-wave module that transmits the RF signal and receives the signal reflection as an initial design phase of the development project. Following the design phase, Endwave will manufacture and supply prototype units of the transceiver module for design qualification and system testing.

Praxair opens new filling center in Belgium

Praxair has opened one of the most technologically advanced cylinder-filling centers for the semiconductor industry in Oevel, Belgium. The 1,200 m2 facility will supply ultra-high purity semiconductor process gases to Praxair Electronics customers throughout Europe.

The filling center features new process innovations that provide enhanced safety, quality, consistency of supply and shorter cycle times. To support its ISO 14001 certifications, the facility houses new environmental systems designed to help eliminate potentially hazardous gas by-products.
