TriQuint ups its revenue forecast
TriQuint has added to the current upbeat sentiment surrounding those companies providing ICs for wireless communications.
TriQuint Semiconductor has raised its third quarter guidance for sales and earnings in light of its current order backlog and anticipated shipments for the remainder of the quarter ending September 30. The company raised its revenue estimates from $70-74 million to $75-77 million for the quarter and also reduced its per-share loss estimate from $0.08-0.11 to $0.06-0.08.
The company expects to maintain its current momentum into its fourth quarter ending December 31, saying that revenue will be towards the top of its guided range of $72-76 million. Orders for the fourth quarter are already ahead of the levels to be typically expected at this time.
TriQuint says that strength in demand for its wireless products is the main reason for its revised estimates, with post-SARS sales growth being seen in Asia and demand rising for cell phones with the latest picture messaging capabilities.
