Aixtron has reduced its revenue guidance for fiscal 2005 by around 10% to €140 million ($165 million), and says that it expects customer equipment spending to remain cautious early next year.
Revenue for the third fiscal quarter 2005 was €29.1 million, down 35% sequentially, with the silicon business contributing €9.2 million.
Aixtron's compound semiconductor business posted sales of €19.9 million, down €8.9 million sequentially, and €10.1 million lower year-on-year.
The company recorded a €7.1 million loss for the third quarter, and cash and cash equivalents fell by €14 million to €31.5 million.
Aixtron's orders also declined, falling from €28.4 million in the second quarter to €24.9 million.
Although Aixtron has cut its sales guidance, it has not adjusted its expected annual loss, which is still predicted to be €10 million - €15 million.
