Key Conference discount deadline expires October 6
In six weeks' time, the fourth Key Conference will take place in San Antonio, TX, as part of Compound Semiconductor Week 2006.

Starting Monday, November 13, the opening session focuses on the convergence of GaAs and silicon processing as the semiconductor industry looks to extend the rule of Moore's Law.
It features speakers from Freescale, the company that is currently leading that effort with a GaAs MOSFET development, as well as representatives from IBM, Sematech, the leading research laboratories IMEC and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a venture capitalist viewpoint.
Session two moves onto one of this year's hottest topics - solar cells - and lasers. It kicks off with three talks on triple-junction solar technology from the leading exponents: Emcore, Spectrolab and Ohio State University's Steve Ringel.
The second part of the photonics session agenda features some of the industry's biggest hitters in Sony and JDSU, who will be complemented by key optical networking start-up Infinera, and the chief executive of the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association.
Day 2
SiC power electronics applications are one of the industry's hot-spots, as evidenced by the opening of no less than four SiC semiconductor fabs in August. And on Tuesday, November 14, the Key Conference continues with six talks on that very subject.
After a market overview, there will be talks from Cree, Infineon, the Naval Research Laboratory, Microsemi Power Products and Semisouth.
This year's closing session will focus on advanced nitride materials "“ predicted to be a near $500 million market within just 4 years according to Strategies Unlimited.
RF Micro Devices, one of the companies that is leading the GaN revolution for electronics applications, kicks off the session, with talks from Cermet, Group4 Laboratories, Kyma and Sensor Electronic Technology to round off the hot topic.
