Eblana expects rapid growth with FTTH build-out
Now shipping a new single-wavelength laser designed for low-cost fiber-to-the-home transceiver applications, Eblana Photonics is anticipating a ramp to high production volumes this year.
Eblana Photonics, the Ireland-based developer of high-speed lasers, is set to benefit from the expected build-out of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) optical communications in the US this year.
With the service provider Verizon planning to deploy a million of these high-speed links direct to homes during 2007, Eblana CEO James O Gorman says that the Dublin company s long-held vision of an outsourced volume manufacturing model has been vindicated.
