TriQuint to expand portfolio 'to meet explosive demand'

Network operators need to expand the infrastructure to cope with "explosive demand" from new mobile devices and so TriQuint is expanding its portfolio to deal with this.
TriQuint Semiconductor - which celebrates its silver anniversary this year - has announced its strategy to expand its portfolio to further enable end-to-end connectivity.

Service providers require radio frequency (RF) innovation as networks have to expand to accommodate "explosive demand" from new genres of mobile devices, as well as mobile telephones, the company said.

Although it already oversees a broad portfolio, TriQuint is set to extend its products to service growing markets and its latest RF solutions for original equipment manufacturers will be showcased at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.

Handsets today include a number of wireless connectivity, data, video and voice options.

"To support these feature-rich mobile devices, network operators are expanding capacity, re-architecting infrastructure design, increasing 3G base station deployments, accelerating 4G planning and upgrading the backhaul transport," said Ralph Quinsey, president and chief executive officer at TriQuint.

It has also been announced by TriQuint that its earnings for the quarter ended December 31st 2009 will be announced on February 24th.ADNFCR-2855-ID-19611409-ADNFCR
