LED market worth $8.2 billion in 2014

GLOBAL MARKET FOR LIGHT-EMITTING DIODES FOR LIGHTING APPLICATIONS TO BE WORTH $8.2 BILLION IN 2014

According to a new technical market research report, LIGHT-EMITTING DIODES FOR LIGHTING APPLICATIONS (SMC018C) from BCC Research (www.bccresearch.com), the global market for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is an estimated $5.4 billion in 2009, but is expected to increase to $8.2 billion in 2014, for a 5-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.7%.

High-brightness light-emitting diodes operate much more efficiently than traditional light bulb products.
