TriQuint delivers world's first 40 and 100 Gbps SMT amplifiers
World-first product delivery for TriQuint.
Radio frequency (RF) product developer and foundry services provider TriQuint has announced the release of the world s first surface-mounted (SMT) 40 and 100 GB per second driver amplifiers.
Sustainability has been put at the heart of the new product, the firm said, as it uses half the energy of its competitors at just 1.7 Watts.
"TriQuint SMT modulator drivers have proven themselves in the market," said company vice-president Brian Balut.
"Our drivers set standards, simplify RF connectivity and break new ground."
The devices will be showcased at the Optical Fiber Communication conference that is taking place this week (March 22nd to 25th) in San Diego, California.
The company s main headquarters are situated in Portland, Oregon in the US, but it has bases of operations spread out across four continents - including in San Jose, Costa Rica, in Munich, Germany and in Shanghai, China.
However, TriQuint s main 100 mm gallium arsenide and gallium nitride fabrication plant is located in Richardson, Texas.
