AirWalk launches new SoC device
AirWalk has created a new SoC device to enhance RF performance management.
Radio frequency (RF) device manufacturer AirWalk Communications has announced the launch of a new system-on-a-chip (SoC) device.
The firm has been working in partnership with QualComm to create an integrated SoC tool using the Femtocell station modem, providing automatic configuration enhancements and delivering RF performance management capabilities.
It has applications in voice and data cellular services for homes, small businesses and campus areas and aims to provide performance advantages over existing SoC solutions.
"By integrating channel modems, processors, GPS elements and beacons into one device, the hardware needed to perform these functions is significantly reduced," commented Serge Pequeux, president and chief executive officer of AirWalk.
AirWalk has received a number of accolades in recent years, including being the 2009 winner of the Innovation in Wireless Enterprise Solutions Development prize at the 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards, as well as being a 2009 finalist in the emerging company category for the Metroplex Technology Business Council.
