GaAs-based WLAN solutions from TriQuint 'beat market competitors'

Extended battery life, faster data exchange and better amplification of weak signals are all features of TriQuint's GaAs-based WLAN solutions.

TriQuint Semiconductor's gallium arsenide (GaAs)-based wireless local area network (WLAN) solutions offer extended battery life, better amplification of weak signals and faster data exchange rates for smartphones than competitive technology, the company has announced.

In-house technology including the CuFlip, TQBiHEMT and E/D pHEMT are used to create its Wi-Fi product portfolio for personal media and wireless data devices, along with handsets.

As such, TriQuint has revealed that its technology powers more WLAN solutions for smartphones than any other company in the market. It stated that its GaAs expertise enabled products which are highly integrated with compact designs to be created, whilst meeting the required voltage and operating temperature.

"TriQuint has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years in the cellular handset front-end and PA space, providing its customers with leading edge solutions based on a broad portfolio of technologies," stated Asif Anwar at Strategy Analytics.
