Cree introduces highest performance six-inch LED downlight

At 80 lumens per Watt, the downlight consumes half the energy of a typical downlight while delivering the same light output

Cree today unveils a new, high-output six-inch LED downlight featuring Cree TrueWhite™ Technology. The LR6-DR1000 delivers 70% more light than the original LR6™ and features a 20-degree shield angle for lighting designs that require greater brightness control.

Using 12.5 watts of input power to deliver 1000 lumens, the LR6-DR1000 is claimed to have unmatched fixture efficacy of up to 84 lumens per watt.

“With the introduction of the LR6-DR1000, Cree continues to extend the superior color quality and high efficacy of TrueWhite Technology,” remarked Gary Trott, VP of Market Development. “By broadening our downlight family, we can now address higher ceiling applications, as well as the specific aesthetic and electrical needs of most commercial spaces.”

There is also a deep-recess 650 lumen LED downlight, the LR6-DR650, available. The LR6-277 (a 277 volt version) designed for use in commercial power systems has also been launched and delivers 650 lumens with 10.5 watts of input power.
