Kopin in top 100
Firm ranked 26th among Massachusetts-based companies by Boston Global Annual Magazine.
Kopin Corporation, U.S. manufacturer of micro-displays announced that it has been named in ‘The Boston Globe's’ 22nd annual "Globe 100," a list of top performing public companies in Massachusetts.
Based on a composite score derived from financial data for the four quarters ending December 31, 2009, the list is composed of Massachusetts-based companies whose stock is publicly traded on NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange or the American Stock Exchange.
"Companies on the Globe 100 list represent the very best in Massachusetts business. These companies show vision and set examples for how to adapt to a tough economic climate," said Shirley Leung, business editor of The Boston Globe.
To qualify for the Globe 100, a company must have been public for the entire 2009 calendar year and have reported a positive net income for both 2008 and 2009.
"We are thrilled to have earned the 26th position on this year's Globe 100, and the 6th position among technology companies in Massachusetts," said John C.C. Fan, President and CEO.
"Having recently celebrated our 25th anniversary in business, these rankings are a reflection of our emphasis on being technologically aggressive but financially conservative. I wish to thanks all our employees and business partners who made this possible."
This year, 82 Massachusetts companies were named to the Globe 100 making the list the most exclusive to date, while serving as a reminder of the challenging economic climate.
