Digi-Key comes up Trumps for Product Distribution

Electronic component distributor is named as one of the five most preferred catalog distributors by 'Electronics Supply & Manufacturing (ES&M) – China' magazine in annual survey

Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, which has one of the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment has been recognized as one of the Most Preferred Catalog Distributors in China.

Digi-Key, and four other catalog distributors, received this recognition as the five most preferred catalog distributors from Electronics Supply & Manufacturing (ES&M) – China magazine, published by Global Sources.

Digi-Key was chosen to receive this recognition by electronics manufacturers across China as part of the 10th Annual Electronic Components Distributor Survey, conducted by ES&M – China.

During a ceremony held June 3 in Shenzhen, China, industry analyst Emily Yu presented the full results of ES&M – China’s annual survey, which outlined how distributors are conducting business in China as well as challenges and plans for the future.

“This recognition as one of the most preferred catalog distributors in China speaks to Digi-Key’s commitment to expanding our reach in China and other markets in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Mark Larson, Digi-Key’s president and COO. “By the end of May this year, Digi-Key had already seen a 347% increase in sales in China compared to the same period of time in 2009. We are excited to see this kind of growth and to explore opportunities to better serve our customers in China and around the globe.”

Digi-Key’s total sales worldwide from January to May 2010 increased by more than 70% over worldwide sales during the same period in 2009.
