JDSU to Highlight Key Technology at ECOC 2010

JDSU today announced that it will highlight solutions from its optical communications and communications test and measurement portfolios

JDSU today announced that it will highlight solutions from its optical communications and communications test and measurement portfolios at the European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications (ECOC) in Torino, Italy from September 20-22. Conference attendees are invited to visit JDSU at booth #140 during the event to see its latest technology offerings and to speak with JDSU experts.

In addition, this year's JDSU booth will include a new theme entitled "JDSU: Enabling the Self Aware Network" that highlights key attributes of future optical networks.

"A Self Aware Network leverages a rich photonic infrastructure to automatically restore and rebalance bandwidth, optimizing network performance and lowering overall costs," said Brandon Collings, CTO for Optical Communications at JDSU. "Colorless, directionless, contentionless, and gridless architectures supporting 100G and beyond will depend on JDSU expertise and innovation to maximize the value of next-generation networks."

JDSU Product Demonstrations and Displays at ECOC

Highlights of JDSU optical communications solutions on display will include:

Live 100G Demo - includes a 100G Compact Form Pluggable (CFP) optical interface based on mature 10G technology to enable higher data rates in optical networks.

Enhanced Tunable XFP - the latest in tunable technology that provides enhanced performance for network transmission, including increased optical output power and improved Optical Signal-To-Noise Ratio (OSNR) performance.

Raman Amplifier - amplifier technology that provides extended reach important for 100G optical networks.

Comprehensive Transceiver Portfolio - including pluggable solutions for emerging wireless and 40G applications.

Highlights of JDSU communications test and measurement products on display will include:

Live 40-100G Demos - showcasing the industry's most robust suite of 40GE/100GE/OTU3/OTU4 solutions, including the JDSU ONT 100G test solution to demonstrate how it continues to give component developers, network equipment designers and service providers the confidence to successfully unlock performance and revenue potential.

New Multimode/Singlemode QUAD Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) - available on the T-BERD®/MTS-4000 platform, a powerful OTDR with high dynamic range and short dead zones, and a true loss test for the installation, turn-up and maintenance of single-mode and multimode fiber links.

High Resolution Dispersion Test Solution - available on the T-BERD®/MTS-6000 and T-BERD®/MTS-8000, an integrated solution (measures CD, PMD and attenuation) for fiber characterization of high speed metro and core networks that offers the best dispersion performance available in a field test solution.

JDSU involvement during the ECOC Market Focus speaker series will include:

"Optical Network Agility" ECOC exhibition floor, Tuesday, September 21, 14:20

Brandon Collings, CTO for Optical Communications at JDSU, will discuss the next generation of network agility, known as colorless and directionless technology, and the benefits it provides to network operators.
