GigOptix Broadens its Horizons in Japanese Optical Market

The firm has recently signed a new distributor agreement with Midoriya Electric which distributes various electric and electronic products including semiconductors.

GigOptix, a leading supplier of high performance electronic and electro-optic components that enable next generation 40G and 100G optical networks, today announced that it has signed Midoriya Electric,a leading distributor of electronic components and instruments, as its sole distributor for optical and RF sales in Japan.

This agreement strengthens GigOptix’ presence in the Japanese Telecom, Datacom, Consumer, PC and semiconductor markets by enabling GigOptix to partner with this premier Japanese distributor.

Makoto Kuroha, President of Midoriya Electric stated, “We are very happy to sign GigOptix as a key supplier. We believe that optics will replace copper interconnect technology in the future and we have been looking for a strong partner in the optical space. GigOptix has great technology and great solutions and is a good match with the Japanese optical communication customers. We look forward to utilizing our strong sales and engineering resources to further develop the customer base in the Telecom and Datacom markets and expanding their reach into higher volume consumer, PC and semiconductor markets.”
