CIGS are King of Solar Cells
This is according to Research and Markets who have released "2011 Deep Research Report on Global and China CIGS Thin Film Solar Cell Industry".
According to Research & Markets, report “2011 Deep Research Report on Global and China CIGS Thin Film Solar Cell Industry”, CIGS has become the best solar cell invested product when compared to other PV materials. This trend is expected to continue as time goes on.
CIGS module efficiency will continue increasing and its 2009 average is about 12% increased from 10% in 2008. Some middle line products reached 16%-17% efficiency, close to that of crystalline silicon solar cell modules. Furthermore, CIGS module cost has greatly reduced; some equipment suppliers said that their product line could reduce their manufacturing cost to about $0.8US/Watt.
The author of the report believes CIGS will become the best solar cell technology offering high efficiency and low cost on a large scale.
