RIBER announces sale of Compact 21 MBE system

RIBER is announcing the sale of a Compact 21 MBE system to a US based major actor in the field of photovoltaic solar modules.

This MBE system will be used to design new thin film structures for solar cells. The Compact 21 offers very high modularity and excellent flexibility, making it possible to satisfy the most demanding specifications for the controlled development of semiconductor-based nanostructures. The system is expected to be delivered in 2012.

This new order further strengthens RIBER's presence in the USA, as well as the credibility of its offering in several fields associated with renewable energies. It confirms the relevance of RIBER's business model and strategy, focused on:

  • Continuing to further strengthen RIBER's leadership on the market for molecular beam epitaxy machines;

  • Continuing to capitalize on the installed base and growing sales of epitaxy equipment, spare parts and accessories, as well as the corresponding services;

  • Rolling out a diversification policy, releasing a range of high value-added equipment on the market for strong-growth application fields (thin-layer solar cells, OLED lighting and screens, etc.).
