Anadigics PAs power new additions to Samsung smartphone series
Anadigics, an innovator of RF solutions, is shipping production volumes of its AWT6622 and AWT6624 fourth generation High-Efficiency-at-Lower-Power (HELP4) power amplifiers (PAs) to Samsung Electronics for the new Galaxy S 4G and Galaxy SII X smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4G provides a 4 inch display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 1 GHz processor, and Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.
The Samsung Galaxy SII X offers a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4.5 inch display, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
The Galaxy S 4G and Galaxy SII X smartphones are available through T-Mobile and Telus respectively.

The AWT6622 and AWT6624 power amplifiers deliver excellent HSPA+ efficiency to extend battery life in 4G handsets, smartphones, tablets, netbooks, and notebooks.
Anadigics says that products from its HELP4 PA family reduce average current consumption by 30%, compared with previous generation PAs. They also have three mode states to achieve high power-added efficiencies at low-range and mid-range output power levels and are claimed to offer best-in-class linearity at maximum output power. The modules come in a 3 mm by 3 mm footprint and have internal voltage regulation and the highly integrated “daisy chainable” directional RF couplers have 20dB directivity.
