ClassOne Equipment Expands European Operations

ClassOne Equipment have announced they have increased their presence in Europe with the opening of new facilities committed to the sales and support of ClassOne Equipment’s and ClassOne Technology’s wet chemical processing products. This includes ClassOne’s traditional products such as remanufactured Semitool SATs, SSTs, and Equinox tools, as well as new products such as the new, field-retrofitable PolarisTM controller that extends the life of existing tools by 10 years or more. The first office, located in Norwich, England will be primarily engaged in sales, while the second office, located in Grenoble, France and will provide field service. These facilities supplement ClassOne’s existing office in London which continues to focus on ClassOne’s three other divisions, SPTS Plasma Etching & PECVD, Suss/EVG Mask Aligners, and KLA-Tencor Wafer Inspection & Metrology.
“The European market is extremely important for emerging technologies such as MEMS, Nanotech, LED and RF Power Devices," said Byron Exarcos, ClassOne’s President, “particularly since the vast majority of these devices are produced on 75 to 200mm substrates.  There exists a large install base of Semitool wet processing equipment in the region and our products and services are in high demand.  Given our commitment to customer-first service, and high quality equipment, the expansion of our European operations will certainly enhance ClassOne’s growth, but more importantly, it will benefit our customers by providing the tools, upgrades, parts, and service that their success depends on."

Bill Tutte, a director of ClassOne Technology Europe added, “With the acquisition of Semitool by AMAT in 2009, it appears that the interest in supporting the Semitool batch tool product line has declined. Customers have reported that they have struggled to receive good technical support at a commercially viable cost since then. With the opening of our new offices we believe that we are well placed to succeed and reverse this apparent trend. Our new offices are 100% dedicated to Semitool equipment expertise and are led by myself for sales from the UK and another former Semitool employee, Jon McGinn, in France. Between us we have over 30 years of Semitool experience, and we are sure that with our knowledge of the products we can provide our customers with the very best care."

The new offices are now open for business and are can be contacted directly with inquiries for Equipment, Spare Parts, Field Repairs, Lift & Rotate Refurbishments, or Service Contracts.  For Sales Inquiries, please contact Bill Tutte at +44.7887.993.530 or btutte@classoneequipment.com.  For Parts, Field Service, or Lift & Rotate refurbishments, please contact Jonathan McGinn at +336.50.14.22.58 or jmcginn@classoneequipment.com.

AngelTech Live III: Join us on 12 April 2021!

AngelTech Live III will be broadcast on 12 April 2021, 10am BST, rebroadcast on 14 April (10am CTT) and 16 April (10am PST) and will feature online versions of the market-leading physical events: CS International and PIC International PLUS a brand new Silicon Semiconductor International Track!

Thanks to the great diversity of the semiconductor industry, we are always chasing new markets and developing a range of exciting technologies.

2021 is no different. Over the last few months interest in deep-UV LEDs has rocketed, due to its capability to disinfect and sanitise areas and combat Covid-19. We shall consider a roadmap for this device, along with technologies for boosting its output.

We shall also look at microLEDs, a display with many wonderful attributes, identifying processes for handling the mass transfer of tiny emitters that hold the key to commercialisation of this technology.

We shall also discuss electrification of transportation, underpinned by wide bandgap power electronics and supported by blue lasers that are ideal for processing copper.

Additional areas we will cover include the development of GaN ICs, to improve the reach of power electronics; the great strides that have been made with gallium oxide; and a look at new materials, such as cubic GaN and AlScN.

Having attracted 1500 delegates over the last 2 online summits, the 3rd event promises to be even bigger and better – with 3 interactive sessions over 1 day and will once again prove to be a key event across the semiconductor and photonic integrated circuits calendar.

So make sure you sign up today and discover the latest cutting edge developments across the compound semiconductor and integrated photonics value chain.
